Why this course now
AI is already being used in quality assurance. The harder question is where it should stop.
AI can help organize evidence, navigate documents, draft questions, identify patterns and support reporting. But it can also introduce unsupported claims, confidentiality risks, hidden automation and inappropriate delegation of professional judgment. This course gives institutions and reviewers a practical framework for using AI while protecting the integrity of quality assurance.

For university leaders, QA offices, academic managers and institutional staff.
Registration is open to active AAC AI+QA Institute members, with invited AAC experts participating through a separate professional-development pathway in responsible AI use in accreditation and education quality.

01Basic familiarity with higher education quality assurance, academic management, accreditation, or external review.
02A laptop or desktop computer for live sessions and exercises.
03Access to at least one mainstream generative AI service capable of working with text prompts and documents.
04A paid subscription is recommended, but not required; a free plan is acceptable if it supports the exercises.
05Ability to join live online sessions with stable internet, camera and microphone.
06No coding or technical AI background is required.
Participants are encouraged to use the AI platform they already work with professionally. AAC does not require or endorse a specific commercial AI provider.

Certificate of Completion
Participants who complete the required modules and successfully pass the assessment receive an AAC AI+QA Institute Certificate of Completion and independent expert status in the responsible use of AI in higher education quality assurance.

Do I need to be an AAC member?
Not necessarily. Members receive the course as a membership benefit. AAC experts may be invited through a separate expert-development route. Other professionals may register interest for future access.
What is the duration?
Approximately 8 hours of learner workload, including the Common Core, one role-specific track and the final assessment.
Is the course live or self-paced?
The course is primarily delivered live by AAC leaders and leading experts, creating opportunities to exchange experience and discuss current issues in AI, accreditation and quality in higher education. A self-paced version will be developed over time.
What certificate will I receive?
Successful participants receive a Certificate of Completion confirming professional development training and independent expert status in the responsible use of AI in higher education quality assurance.
