The AAC is proud that our agency has obtained its official status as a National Accreditation Agency in Curacao.
The AAC is acknowledged by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Curacao as a National Accreditation Agency, which will ensure the procedures for safeguarding the academic quality of higher education study programs as well as courses offered by vocational institutions.
The AAC is authorized to assess and accredit higher education programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Any higher education institution, whether local or transnational, can approach the AAC for accreditation which according to the Higher Education Ordinance will be one of the conditions to grant recognition by the Ministry of Education.
Ministry of Social Development and Education Anguilla
AAC has attained the status of an authorized and recognized quality assurance body (QAB) by the Ministry of Social Development and Education in Anguilla.
Accredited Higher Education Institutions by the AAC can request licensing from the Ministry of Education in Anguilla, which will provide students with the necessary assurance that they are receiving an education of the highest standards.
Strengthening Global Partnership with ACBSP
The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), located in USA and the Accreditation Agency Curacao (AAC), nationally recognized and located in Curacao have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
- ACBSP, a leading non-profit accreditation association, and AAC, an independent accrediting agency in Curacao, will collaborate to enhance educational standards globally.
- AAC will conduct institutional accreditations, complementing ACBSP's focus on programmatic accreditation.
- Both organizations will promote each other, expanding their reach and impact.
This partnership and shared commitment to excellence in higher education sets the stage for future collaborative efforts.
Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS)
The Accreditation Agency of Curacao (AAC) has a formal agreement for collaboration with the very reputable accreditation agency from Germany – AQAS.
One of the most important aspects of this association between the AAC and AQAS is the double accreditation option. In a joint accreditation procedure, corresponding mechanisms from both agencies are united wherever possible. Deciding on such a combined process will offer institutions the opportunity to acquire a double accreditation (program and/or institutional) on the basis of a single procedure.
